To make matters worse for Hull, about 200 Ohio militiamen refused to go beyond American territory. The general nonetheless remained confident. On July 12, 1812, he took his men across the Detroit River and into Canada, where he immediately issued a written proclamation telling inhabitants that they would “be emancipated from tyranny and oppression.” “Had I any doubt of eventual success I might ask your assistance, but I do not,” Hull declared. “I come prepared for every contingency.”
These words proved immediately laughable. Hull briefly laid siege to Fort Malden but soon withdrew after warriors under the leadership of Shawnee chief Tecumseh intercepted his supply train. British commander Isaac Brock then chased the Americans back across the river and began launching cannon fire at Fort Detroit from the Canadian side. Brock arranged for a bogus document to reach the Americans that told of large numbers of Native Americans approaching Detroit.

No, this is your first reply, so no worries. Lol, I know what you mean about the “sometimes boring company”, though people may think that of me….but eh, I’m good with that. “I know you don’t talk politics”…..hahaha. Lol, I know you DO talk politics, a lot! Well, a BIG reason I don’t talk politics is bc I have friends who have a different opinion than me, & I don’t want to step on any toes. Nope, there are no good or bad people, just people who make unwise choices. That’s the teacher in me coming out. “Regular” Rep. and Dem. see what’s in front of them & recognize truth. Extremists on both sides only see what they want to see, only view the platforms that support their beliefs, stew in that belief, & voila….conspiracy theories are formed, AND the ones who believe this stuff, vehemently deny being an “extremist”. Yet here we are…..a broken country. Something ‘extreme’ happened to create this reality, and unfortunately, the seed has already been planted (along with a million other seeds) that it ain’t over yet. ☹

I think Greg, that Father Jack would have been more inclined to attend a rave, than Father Ted lol I didn't hear of any raves, but there were a few social gatherings. Trump is such an utter buffoon, it's impossible to take him seriously on any level. He has not merely disgraced himself, he has disgraced America and everything it stands for...or is supposed to stand for. He will go down in history as a worse president than Nixon.

Hi Greg, so you're watching Discovery? What do you make of it? I think it's very PC myself. A lot of SJW stuff. But I'm a life long Trekkie, so I'm giving it a chance. So you got to see the conjunction? I missed it, but I was fortunate enough to catch a total eclipse of the sun in Portland, Oregon a few years ago. It was amazing, and well worth the wait, even if it only last a few minutes. Oh I am just delighted that Trump has gone the way of the dinosaur. I couldn't be happier. He's a narcissistic, fascistic scumbag! I like what you have written in your profile. Do you think that Brexit could lead to a Scottish exit from the UK? I might have asked you that before, I can't remember. We are certainly living in interesting, game changing times, that's for sure! Right now, I'm focused on these vaccines and whether or not they'll get us out of this mess. I might wait awhile, before taking it. Just to be on the safe side.
