Ahh Yes,the original Japanese only Released Super Famicom Version of Trials of Mana, which I remember playing this gem back in the day in 2001 back during my early emulation days.lol
I have yet to Play the recent Remake, but the Original was defentially ahead of it's time, which the graphics and the gameplay were a huge step up from the previous Game "Secret of Mana/Seiken Densetsu 2",because one of the Minor Complaints Many Mana fans had with the 2nd game in the series was the Broken Wonky Hit Detection which made certain Boss Battles Extreamly tedious and tough, such as Randi constantly having to charge his sword power up to 100% Energy Maxium Power just to hit an enemey Target at point blank Range, however the Sequel Fixes the clunky Hit detection and improves the gameplay with a new magic/Job class system!
anyways,Doing some random Level Grinding playing as two of my fav characters Charlotte the half elf and Angela:P and already I got them up to LV 9,and plus I managed to get a Hand Axe weapon! but unfortionatly Neither Charlotte nor Angela can Equip it.lol

I mean geeze,what a waste of a weapon!
Either way, these 2 are a force to be wrecken with as no toadstool Mushroom or bat stands in they're Way in these Dark Caves!
anyways,at the time, before the remake came out, older fan translations called this Secret of Mana 2,but however, ever since the remake came out, there have been new updated rom hacks of the original super nintendo version in recent years:P

and YEP!!! in the words of Charlotte,These game are wery wery Grindy,as the Enemies don't give you much Exp Points!

I still refer to this as Seiken Densetsu III and leave Trials of Mana to the actual remake.
Also the Hand Axe you should be able to select it and throw it at an enemy just like they can do to you. In Trials of Mana these do nice damage to boss enemies.
