Not my favorite Doors song Blaine,but very interesting. The lyrics have some Nietsche in them, Freud: the Oedipus complex.: It started out as a simple good-bye song, to his girlfriend girl at the time, or a goodbye to a kind of childhood. But it evolved into a very complex 12 minute song. The music is amazing too, Robby Krieger is a genius, Indian feel in this one, tuning his guitar so that it sounded like a sitar. But also you can hear he was influenced by Chopin’s “Funeral March.”
