One of the most challenging things for me has always been creating music that does not sound like another band, lol! There are so many riffs based upon the same basic chords and formula, it seems like every time I start strumming or picking a new idea, it hits me like "Hasn't this been done before?" It isn't easy believe me. However it is a labor of love and my true passion in life. Without music I would be completely lost.

Good evening again Mark! I read your comment and the more I think about it, I agree with you about the b/g music. When I am doing "art" type projects, like building a model for example, I always have some tunes going, and I actually find that helpful! However, when I am concentrating on serious paperwork, math problems, drafting letters, working on the P.C. I have to do so in complete silence. I also cannot read books with the TV or music on. I tend to become far to easily distracted. As far as writing music, I have only written under 20 songs in my life, and none have lyrics, just music. So, it really depends on the mood I am in as far as what actually comes out of my instrument if that makes sense.

Come to think of it, I don't recall any Irish tennis players and I've been playing and following tennis since the 70's. I mean of course there's players but not worldwide big-time household name players. But ya did have a golfer enter the tennis world so to speak lol. I'm referring to a few yrs back when Rory McIlroy was engaged to Dane tennis player Caroline Wozniacki. :)

Oh, and be sure to watch my upload test video if you haven't already. I would hate to have anyone create a really detailed, in depth video and have it stuck in transcoding like mine was. My video was only 280 MB and under 2 minutes, just FYI. Looks like we will all be embedding for a while. Catch ya later!

I am pretty sure it must be the same with you. I am one who has to have complete silence when I am concentrating, but some people actually function better with b/g noise, like radio, TV, etc. How about you? I will say your artwork looks really good, btw! I never knew you could draw like that. That is one thing I have never been able to do well. A lot of my family are great artists, but I certainly didn't inherit that gene. My art looks like the work of your great buddy at US, Stickman! Anyway, I am really glad you are able to pursue what your calling is in life. Don't give up. Even if you don't get the exact position you are looking for, if you stick within that field I am sure things will all fall into place.

Good afternoon Mark. I was wondering if you would be on here again anytime soon since I'm sure the course will be keeping you busy! I really like your ideas, and yes I do think people like us all have the same restless streak in our brains. I have an extremely difficult time just doing "nothing", but sometimes that can be a bad thing when my body needs the rest. When I pick up my guitar and play, it really depends on the current situation and state of mind I am in. To pick it up and play to stay sharp usually consists of playing cover songs, or songs I have already written. When I go to actually create something new, I have to have a completely clear mind, meaning no stress, no outside distractions, and just being able to focus. These days, I find that to be very difficult as everyday life is so crazy busy.

Hi Mark, regarding the BB Code, everyone seems to do it their own way. I think the common denominator between all the methods though is to find the pic or gif's "direct link". This link needs to be pasted in between [img] & [/img] Here's how I do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nmSD7rUbQ0&t=128s
