2003 Version (4kids Entertainment Dub) VS 2021 Reboot (Viz Media/Netflix Dub) Comparisions
Since the New English Dub of the recent New Viz Media/Netflix English dub of the 2021 Reboot is now out and available on Netflix,i think it's high time to do a comparision of the 4kids dub of the old 2001-2003 version and the new Uncut Netflix/Viz Media dub of the recent new 2021 Reboot.
and so,heres a comparision of one of my fav emotional scenes from Shaman King where Yoh Asakura ends up breaking/ending his friendship with Manta after he lost his Shaman Fight Match with Faust the 8th and doesn't wanna risk endangering Manta again which he had no other choice but to end they're friendship to keep him safe. as much as I loved the 4kids version of this scene from the old 2003 version,and still do,but I defentially love how the reboot handled this scene much better which is much more emotional,not only does the 2021 version follow much more closer to the original manga,but also for the first time,we finnally get to see Manta's Parents in animated form and what his family life was like,which his parents never made any appearance in the original 2001/2003 version.
for example,instead of getting a visit from Silva in the hospital like what happened in the 2003 version,here instead in the 2021 reboot,Manta gets a visit from his family,and gets a bitch slap in the face from his father for his careless action.
anyways,the point is,the 2001/2003 version changed so much stuff from it's original source material,that it feels like a completly different show all together,the same thing also happened with the original 2003 version of Full Metal Alchemists which suffered the same fate compared to the 2009-2011 reboot "Full Metal Alchemists Brotherhood"
