The Shin Megami Tensei games were a series of 3D Dungeon Crawler turn Based RPGs which use a 3D Turn based Gameplay mechanic similar to Phantasy Star 1 and Compile's Madoh Monogatari games=P
You play as a female charaacter named Yumiko which she and her classmate Akemi Nakajima investegate s horror themed Moon Pyramid after a hellspawn chaos of demons are unleashed from a virus computer program from they're school!

Yumiko Can wield Whips and Knives while Nakajima can wield daggers!
Back than,it was cool to see anything that looked 3D in the 8-bit and 16-bit era,but just like alot of these types of games at the time,getting through these 3D dungeons without a map are a freaken pain in the Ass! but luckially for this game,Yumiko has a magic spell she can cast which can generate a map of these dungeons making your quest much easier.lol.
One of The Game's Major Strong points besides the excellent soundtrack that the Shin Megami Tensei franchise is well known for it's detailed Monster Designs and the Yuu Yuu Hakusho-inspired character designs which these monsters are pretty terrifying and pretty damn scary which will give both capcom's sweet home and capcom's resident evil a run for they're money.lol.

awesome,ghoulish and addicting looking random gameplay digital devil story megami tensei nes/famicom you uploaded which is cool to know that romhacking.net finally released a fan made english translation patch on there website just recently which makes it easier to understand the ghoulish post apocalyptic plot in english which hopefully someday once i save enough money to get a laptop i.ll use romhacking.net's fan made english translation patch on there website so i can progress further into the game and enjoy the story sense i happen to randomly tried out the game on a nes emulator one time a few years ago but couldn't get further due to not knowing japanese and its true that getting through the 3d dungeons without a map can be tedious which thankfully atlus did the right thing to have yumiko to use her magic to generate a map which makes getting through the 3d dungeons alot easier conpare to most 3d dungeon crawlers at the time all like you said lol but i digress ^_^ so therefor i decided to add your random gameplay video of digital devil story megami tensei on my favorites list on my metajolt account to remember it by loved it ^_^ thanks for sharing it with me buddy
