"Coaching" as Hubert alluded to here isn't always called. But sometimes it is and it was indeed called that US Open Finals day. All she had to do was just let it go with the verbal warning she got but no.... As Naomi started beating her ass she smashed her racket so there's strike 2 and a point given to Naomi Osaka. From there, well all along Serena has been not just talking down to but literally verbally berating the ump (which she'd done before in other tourneys). The umpire finally had enough of her antics and said penalty Mrs Williams game awarded to Naomi.

Ok, but what happened the other day when Naomi beat Williams had NOTHING to do with Sexism or Racism. It had to do with Serena Williams completely melting down and making a fool out of herself. I've seen and watched the match half a dozen times now. It all began with the Portuguese umpire giving her a warning for coaching. She may not have RECEIVED coaching but she was GIVEN coaching. The whole world saw it... no big deal, only a warning but again, her coach from the stands made gestures basically telling her to go to the net and volley as opposed to staying back and trying to rally with Naomi who was outplaying her.

Ok so... let me add this, Serena definitely is the best female tennis player ever. No question. Better than Navratilova, better than Chrissy, better than all. Now, one can argue that the equipment & strings these days are so much better than in my days of BJK and many and that's true... I mean, today's rackets are basically trampolines with handles but let me get back on topic lol...

Hiya there, thought I'd chime in here. :) First off, hehe u know me I tend to blather on but... honestly Kandace, I know tennis inside out. It's been my fave sport all of my life. Hmm, i did not know thaqt, Hubert. Then i have to lean toward Serena. If she felt she was cheated by this man - and it was not the first time, then she had a point. Whether she over reacted is debatable. Myself, i probably would have been just as angry. Oh...
Hmm, i did not know thaqt, Hubert. Then i have to lean toward Serena. If she felt she was cheated by this man - and it was not the first time, then she had a point. Whether she over reacted is debatable. Myself, i probably would have been just as angry. Oh well, its in the past now. She has other games coming up to tie and even break the record of Margaret Court for the highest number of grand slam wins. I sure it will come soon.
Read more...Serena claims she did not see her coach, Patrick, giving her cues. The coach does admit that he was doing so. Do you think the judge was sexist ? Did Serena deserve to forfeit a game, be reprimanded, and to have heavy monetary fines ?
That 3rd penalty lost Serena a game but she was already down a break in that set, she wasn't going to win. Serena tried to turn it into sexism as she went from cocky mouth to balling her eyes out. She effectively took away the joy that Naomi deserved...
That 3rd penalty lost Serena a game but she was already down a break in that set, she wasn't going to win. Serena tried to turn it into sexism as she went from cocky mouth to balling her eyes out. She effectively took away the joy that Naomi deserved with winning her first major at the age of 20. It truly was a sickening spectacle to see Serena lose her mind like that. Not only have I seen the whole match now multiple times but I've also seen the backlash against her from the tennis community on every avenue of social media I've seen. 90% against her and calling her a disgrace!!!
