I have always loved this song...even way back when I was not overly interested in this type of ballad. It's beauty is boundless, both lyrically and musically! It is timeless! It is sensual! It is erotic! In it is bound up all that which the human heart can properly understand of romantic love.

I have always loved this song...even way back when I was not overly interested in this type of ballad. It's beauty is boundless, both lyrically and musically! It is timeless! It is sensual! It is erotic! In it is bound up all that which the human heart can properly understand of romantic love.

After recently hearing some of the contestants on the X-Factor botch this song, almost into oblivion, I decided to haul my Roberta Flack version out of my i-Tunes folder and make a video, fitting its extraordinary essence and beauty.

Most of my videos are dedicated to one person. You can see this phenomenon in almost all of my videos if you look carefully. Sometimes you will see the allusion in plain sight, sometimes you may not, it is so well hidden. They are there, nonetheless. These dedications belong to a man who exuded an extraordinary influence over my life, even though he has passed out of the realms of my existence as of this time.

At the beginning of this video, you will see an animated gif which I slowed down some to use in this video. The picture depicts a gothic type woman, holding a lamp next to, what appears like a tombstone of old. The scene is situated in a grey, desolate, forlorn and abandoned place.

The woman has red hair, as do I. She appears to be tall and thin, as I was when I was younger. She is dressed in black, as if mourning the passing of a loved one, yet she is holding a lamp - this lamp depicts the light she holds in her hands and in her heart - THE light, the ONLY source of true light, the Bible, which is the word of God. SOLA Scriptura!

The tombstone depicts the quandary of the lost loved one.

The Lord Jesus Christ had gone to Capernaum, and was being followed all over the place by the people. He was calling them to follow him, but many were making excuses - one said:

""Lord, first let me go and bury my father." But Jesus told him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."" - Matthew 8:21-22

In this statement, Jesus Christ was speaking of spiritually dead people when he said: "Let the dead (spiritually dead) bury their own dead (physically dead).

If you are spiritually dead, your physical death will plunge you into the pits of hell, from whence there is no escape. The dreams in which you're dying, are NOT the best you've ever had -- not if you are not found in Christ on that terrible day when the Lord God snatches back the breath he gave you. The Bible says without guile:

"But the eyes of the wicked will fail,
And there will be no escape for them;
And their hope is to breathe their last."
(Job 11:20)

True love is not always pleasant, nor will it always appear "kind" as the fragile human will and emotions understand "kind". The Bible also says:

"Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." - Proverbs 27:6

Repent and believe the Gospel!

"The wages of sin is death, BUT, the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23.

"I declare unto you the gospel...By which also ye are saved...how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 ~excerpted.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16

I will always love you, even though you have no concept of such love.
Take care.
With much love.

To my Beloved -- my one and only love. ~ Ephesians 1:6
"My Beloved is mine, and I am his.." ~ Song of Solomon 2:16
I can no longer fight him or his memory, my Lord.
Neither have I the desire anymore. I have lost the battle!
Nevertheless, my Lord, remember Thou Thy servant, Elizabeth,
And Thy promises to her, that my prayers are effectual for
all those for whom I intercede with you. Whether those prayers
are effectual for this temporal world we live in, or whether they
are effectual for those for whom eternal life has been predestined,
according to thy word. Amen.
