On February 22, 2020, Hasbro revealed at New York Toy Fair 2020 that the next Power Rangers adaptation would be based off the 2019 dinosaur-based Super Sentai season, Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger. However, the official title wasn't revealed at the time. It was revealed as Power Rangers Season 28.[2] On May 15, 2020, it was revealed that the adaptation would be called Power Rangers Dino Fury. [3]
As revealed by show-runner Simon Bennett, post-production on Beast Morphers wrapped around January 2020 but Ryusoulger was still airing and the writers of that show didn't want to release plot-points too early so the writers pretty much had to make things up as they went along with nothing but the raw footage as a reference. Given the fact that the 2020-2021 Coronavirus pandemic was started to appear partway through production, it is yet unclear how the restrictions affected the series proper.[4]
When an army of powerful alien beings is unleashed on Earth, threatening life as we know it, a brand-new team of Power Rangers, fueled by the pre-historic power of the dinosaurs, are recruited to deal with the threat.[5]
