Gerard Robinson, a native of Darlington, S.C. and Spc. Luke Shebuski, a native of Columbia, S.C., both assigned to the 1-118th, D Co., Infantry Battalion from Marion, S.C. are manning a traffic control point with S.C. Highway Patrolman J.L. McCaskill on Highway 76 leading into Nichols, S.C. to prevent local and out-of-town travelers from driving into a flooded and washed-out roadway, September 20, 2018. There are approximately 2,800 South Carolina National Guard Soldiers, 40 Airmen and 100 State Guard on duty as well as 28 Soldiers and Airmen from Pennsylvania National Guard and 8 troops from the New York National Guard and 100 Tennessee National Guard assisting response efforts from the impacts of Hurricane Florence.
