We are fortunate that no rule changes are official until the US Government updates the Federal Register sometime in January, so there shouldn't be any major changes until then. In the meantime, the fight for Net Neutrality is far from over. There are a battery of legal challenges to the FCC's decision from businesses, organizations, and even several states that are challenging the rules, or are looking to put their own protections in place. The big thing we are trying to do is reach "sustainability" where we can comfortably and securely grow the site without cutting too deeply into our development budget. While I like to think the scale back we're planning won't be necessary, I'd much rather be safe than risk the site's future as a whole. We're taking steps all the time to make sure MetaJolt isn't going anywhere.
Read more...Not the video I wanted to make today, but it is due all the same. We are putting the video system expansion plans on hold for the time being until the projected new "fees" we'll likely be due to pay are better known and understood so that we can better allocate our resources, and thereby continue to serve you all going forward well into the future. When the team and I are more confident that we can project our costs, we'll begin ramping up the uploader and other bandwidth-heavy features agai...
